Ronald McDonald House Family Room: Baystate Children's Hospital

The Ronald McDonald House Family Room: Baystate Children’s Hospital provides a supportive space for families of hospitalized children just steps from the bedside. Since opening in 2024, our Family Room offers comfort and amenities within the hospital, allowing families to stay close to their child and actively engage in their healthcare journey.

Location and Access

The Ronald McDonald House Family Room: Baystate Children’s Hospital is located in the Daly Building, 4th Floor, outside of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the Children and Adolescent Unit. It is available to families of hospitalized children at no charge on weekdays, 12 noon to 6 pm. Whether families need a break from the clinical environment or a moment of normalcy, they find all they need and more in our Family Room.

Our Ronald McDonald House Family Room is a peaceful retreat away from medical units where families and caregivers can:

  • Rest and recharge in quiet spaces designed for relaxation.
  • Unwind in comfortable chairs in our soothing sitting area.
  • Focus on their own health and wellness by relaxing in our state-of-the-art massage chair.
  • Eat or take back to their child’s room light lunch options, beverages, and snacks from our kitchen area,
  • Find a moment of distraction with our freshwater aquarium and reading materials.

By Air

  • Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut (24 minutes from the House).
  • Transportation to and from Bradley, Yellow Taxi 413-739-9999
  • Geraldo’s Transportation to LaGuardia Airport, New York and Logan Airport, Boston 413-739-0500

By Train

  • Amtrak has regularly scheduled trains into and out of Springfield Union Station.
  • It is best to take a taxi to and from the train station to the House, 5 minutes.

By Bus

  • Grey Hound and Peter Pan buses operate out of the Springfield Union Station and have regularly scheduled buses in and out of Springfield Union Station.
  • Transportation to and from Springfield Union Station, Yellow Taxi 413-739-9999.
